In the headquarters a web server has been installed that hosts the platform of asynchronous distance teaching, the platform supports 100+ persons as the maximum number of concurrent course attendance. The course takes place through the Internet and access is possible even through a simple PSTN connection without any loss with respect to observing each lesson. It operates on an Apache server and its database has been created by MySql. WebPages are built into PHP. They platform continues to evolve and currently supports:

• Course organizer.


• Links, related to the lesson, in other sites.


• Course aiding files which are uploaded to the database by the teacher and can be downloaded by any student. They can be of any form, such as video, sound, PowerPoint presentations etc.


• Student projects. Students can upload their project (of any form) to the database, which are visible for all students of the course.


• Announcements..


• Discussion forums (chat). In this forum there can be a discussion either between the students or between the students and their teacher to resolve questions, assistance etc.


• Exercises of the course which are made by the course's professor. The types of exercises it supports are many, such as multiple choice questions with one answer, multiple choice questions with multiple answers of varying weight and many other types of questions.


• Statistics of the course which assist the instructor to adapt his/her course to student needs.


• User groups to make student management easier.
